Prairie Verbena (Glandularia bipinnatifida)

Prairie Verbena, or Dakota Mock Vervain (Glandularia bipinnatifida), is a low-growing, spreading, herbaceous perennial ground cover that produces dense clusters of vibrant, deep-purple to lavender flowers over a very long blooming season. Its finely cut, fern-like green leaves provide an attractive, textured backdrop. It is native to dry, rugged environments, making it exceptionally heat and drought-tolerant. It is a fantastic, long-blooming choice for rockeries, sunny slopes, mixed borders, and butterfly gardens, quickly forming colourful mats that spill beautifully over edges.
