Pemba Grass (Buffalo / St. Augustine)

Pemba grass (Stenotaphrum secundatum) is a warm season grass that is light to dark green with broad and flat leaf blades. It grows best at the coast and in Ukambani. It spreads by stolons and has excellent shade tolerance in warm climates. It forms a very thick sod which enables it to completely out-crowd weeds.
