Bearded Iris

The Bearded Iris (Iris germanica) is a stunning, clump-forming perennial beloved for its large, ruffled, velvety blooms in a rich spectrum of purples, blues, whites, and bicolours — each flower adorned with a distinctive fuzzy 'beard' along the lower petals. It grows from thick, fleshy rhizomes and thrives in well-drained, fertile soil with at least 6–8 hours of full sun per day. A reliable and long-lived garden perennial, it adds dramatic colour and architectural form to mixed borders, cutting gardens, and sunny flowerbeds.
