Spectacular Cassia (Cassia spectabilis)

The Spectacular Cassia (Cassia spectabilis / Senna spectabilis) is a medium-sized, fast-growing, semi-deciduous flowering tree that produces profuse, large clusters of brilliant golden-yellow flowers that smother the canopy in breathtaking seasonal splendour, typically coinciding with the dry season when many other trees are dormant. It is one of the most rewarding and spectacular flowering trees for warm climates and provides dense, feathery shade from its long, pinnate leaf canopy. It grows quickly from seed, is hardy across a range of soils, and makes a superb avenue, park, or estate garden tree.
