Purple Lantana (Lantana montevidensis)

Purple Lantana (Lantana montevidensis), or Trailing Lantana, is a superb, low-growing, spreading ground cover that produces a virtually non-stop, spectacular display of vivid lilac-purple flower clusters year-round in warm climates. Unlike standard bush lantana, this species has a distinctly cascading, vine-like habit, making it an incredible choice for trailing dramatically over retaining walls, hanging baskets, and covering large areas of bare earth as a floriferous, weed-smothering carpet. Exceptionally tough, heat-tolerant, and beloved by butterflies.
