Lollipop Plant (Pachystachys lutea)

The Lollipop Plant, or Golden Shrimp Plant, is a cheerful, spreading, evergreen shrublet and ground cover that produces incredibly distinctive, bright golden-yellow, cone-shaped bracts layered like overlapping scales. From these glowing yellow 'lollipops', small, tubular white flowers emerge, attracting sunbirds and pollinators. The deep, dark-green, prominently veined leaves provide a lush background for the striking floral display. It thrives in warm, humid, partially shaded conditions and provides a unique, tropical, structural element to borders, shaded beds, and containers.
