Eugenia Tree (Syzygium / Brush Cherry)

Eugenia (Syzygium spp.) is a versatile, fast-growing, compact evergreen tree or large shrub prized for its beautiful, glossy, dark-green leaves that emerge with a vivid, coppery-red flush before maturing. It responds exceptionally well to pruning and shaping, making it one of the most popular choices for formal, clipped hedges, topiaries, and shaped screens in East Africa. It also produces small, colourful berries that attract birds. Its dense, lush, year-round foliage makes it equally effective as a standalone specimen or a structural hedge plant.
