Afrocarpus Falcatus (Podo / Podocarpus)

Afrocarpus falcatus, commonly known as Podo or Outeniqua Yellowwood, is a majestic, slow-growing indigenous conifer and one of Kenya's most iconic highland forest trees. It can reach towering heights and develops a beautiful, dense, dark-green crown with narrow, sickle-shaped leaves. Podo is an excellent choice for large specimen planting, formal avenues, windbreaks, and tall natural screens. It is an important keystone forest species, providing habitat and food for colourful birds like Hartlaub's Turaco, and is under conservation protection — planting it is a meaningful ecological contribution.
